Joan Liguori Perillo

Joan Liguori Perillo earned a BA in Education and an MA in English Literature from The City University of New York. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and her thesis was entitled "The Theme of Infidelity in the Poetry of Robert Browning." For nearly twenty years, Perillo has taught Freshman composition and literature and served as program manager for remedial writing at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida.

Despite their differences, and although Newman and Browning never met, they shared similar life experiences, and literary techniques, and both were concerned with the justification of Christianity, as well as the struggle between faith and doubt.
